About two decades ago, the AyILS team pioneered in establishing the department of Minimal Access, Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery in India.Dr. Pradeep Chowbey belongs to the cadre of the pioneer laparoscopic surgeons in the country. The advent of minimally invasive surgery has no doubt been most fortuitous in many aspects.
Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) brought with itself many benefits, from tiny and lesser incisionsto short post-operative period thus reducing the cost to the hospital as well as the patient. Some other advantages of MIS are the ability of the patient to resume normal activities in few hours from the surgery and far lesser morbidity and mortality rates. The success stories of laparoscopic surgeries over open conventional surgeries are remarkable and non-comparable.
With a record 70,000 surgeries, the AyILS team has consistently featured in the Limca Book of records 2000 onwards for the maximum number of surgeries performed. Over the years, we have established standard protocols and procedures and meticulously followed them as a result of which we have been awarded some of the most prestigious accreditations. We are the Founder Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery and also the Founder Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery.
